About

Alocasia 'Regal Shields' combines the imposing scale of Alocasia odora with the crisp, corrugated venation of Dragon Scale breeding to produce one of the most striking large-format hybrids in the genus. Its huge, shield-shaped leaves are a deep matte green so dark it reads almost black in low light, with pale, sharply recessed veins tracing across a thick, waxy surface. Sturdy upright petioles hold the foliage well clear of the pot, giving mature plants real architectural presence as a floor specimen. It is a vigorous, relatively forgiving grower for its size, which has made it a favourite statement plant for collectors moving beyond windowsill-scale Alocasias.
