How to Use Aroid Atlas
Finding a plant
Use the search bar in the header to jump straight to a species or cultivar by scientific or common name. To browse instead, the Plant Atlas lists every species with filters for genus, price, variegation and care needs, plus a table view if you'd rather scan many plants at once than scroll cards.
Reading a plant page
Each plant page leads with its typical UK price and whether it is Verified (3 or more UK sales in the last 90 days). The size chart beneath shows the price at other sizes, then the sales behind it, the plant's other forms, and its care notes.
Price history and the most traded plants
Price History shows a plant's UK sale prices month by month, for the size named on its page. The Most traded page lists the plants with the most UK sales in the last 90 days, so you can see which prices rest on the most sales.
Watching a plant with Greenhouse
My Greenhouse keeps a list of the plants you own and the ones you want. Set an alert price on a wishlist plant and we email you when its UK price falls to it or below. Alerts use a Verified price, a Limited price with a sale in the last 90 days, or the lowest shop price; estimates and older sales never trigger one.
Care guides and market articles
Learn covers cultivation: humidity, substrate, watering, and illustrated propagation walkthroughs by genus, plus a Market & Buying section on pricing mechanics and buyer checks. Articles holds data-driven ranked lists, such as the most expensive plants within a given genus, built from the latest price evidence rather than hand-picked.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where does the typical UK price come from?
It is the median of what UK buyers paid on eBay for that plant, for the one size named on the page; a Verified price gives recent sales more weight. Listings that are not that plant are filtered out first. The evidence is rebuilt weekly and published once reviewed. The full rules are on the How we price plants page.
Why does a plant show no price at all?
Some plants, particularly newly catalogued or rarely sold ones, have no UK sales on record yet. The page then shows shop prices, an estimate range, or says there is no price yet, rather than a misleading single number.
Is the typical UK price the exact price I'll pay?
No. It's a realistic midpoint, not a fixed rate. Node count, root state, and variegation percentage all move an individual listing's price above or below it. See "Is This a Fair Price?" in Learn for how to read a specific listing.
How do I get notified when a price drops?
Add the plant to your wishlist in My Greenhouse and set an alert price. We email you, and mark it on your Greenhouse page, once its UK price reaches it.
