Mint is a softly variegated selection of the popular Monstera adansonii 'Swiss Cheese Vine', carrying pale mint-green and cream marbling across the narrow, fenestrated leaves rather than the stark white sectors of an albo form. It shares adansonii's fast-growing, densely fenestrated trailing or climbing habit, and the gentler mint tone makes variegation loss less visually noticeable during the plant's typical light-hungry growing conditions than starker white-variegated forms.

Before you buy

  • Ensure there is at least one healthy node present, since a leaf without a node cannot produce new growth

Substrate
Chunky, well-draining mix: 40% potting compost, 30% perlite, 20% orchid bark, 10% worm castings. Monsteras are more tolerant of moisture than most aroids but still need drainage.
Watering
Water when the top 3–5 cm is dry. These are forgiving plants but still susceptible to root rot if kept too wet. Water less in winter.
