About Monstera deliciosa 'Fission'
Monstera deliciosa 'Fission' is a variegated deliciosa cultivar launched in 2026 by EMgarden, the Chinese wholesale nursery that also lists Devil Monster and Burle Marx Flame Mint. Its launch photos show dense marbling in two tones, lime-yellow and cream, laid over dark green, with long streaks running from the midrib to the margin and fine cream flecks scattered between them. The pale tissue covers well over half of each leaf, which puts it closer to a heavily marbled aurea than to the fine speckle of Thai Constellation. EMgarden has not published how the plant arose or whether it is being tissue-cultured, and no UK sales have been recorded yet.

Species-specific things to check when evaluating a listing
- Ask the seller where the plant came from. Stock traced to EMgarden or one of its wholesale buyers is the only verifiable source at this stage
- Compare the newest leaf with the launch photos: two-tone lime and cream marbling. A plain aurea or albo deliciosa relabelled as Fission is the likeliest fake while the name is new
- Check the stem as well as the leaves; variegation should run through the node you are buying
- Treat launch asking prices as a starting point. Prices for new Monstera cultivars have fallen sharply once propagated stock arrives, as they did for Devil Monster and Thai Constellation

Propagates like any deliciosa, from a node with an aerial root. Whether the pattern holds through cuttings is not yet known; a node sitting in a mostly green section of stem is the one most likely to produce plain green growth.

Chunky, well-draining mix: 40% potting compost, 30% perlite, 20% orchid bark, 10% worm castings.
Water when the top 3–5 cm is dry. With so much pale tissue the plant uses water more slowly than a green deliciosa, so allow a little longer between waterings and check the mix before each one.
60–80%. The cream sections brown at the edges first when the air is dry.
Balanced fertiliser at half strength every 2–3 weeks from spring through summer. Little or none in winter.
Every 12–18 months, or when roots fill the pot. Give it a moss pole early; climbing plants produce larger, more fenestrated leaves.

A New Release From EMgarden
EMgarden announced 'Fission' in 2026 as a new-release deliciosa, and so far it has been sold in very small numbers. One plant was advertised at US$40,000; that is a single asking price, not a sale, and no UK sales have been recorded. The figure on this page is an estimate for a small plant based on how the closest comparable, Devil Monster, has priced in the UK since its own launch. It will be replaced by a sold-price median once enough UK sales are recorded.
