Thick, parchment-like leaves run heavily ruffled and undulating along the margin on Anthurium plowmanii, a large birdsnest-type species from the tropical Americas that can reach 90cm of foliage. It tolerates drier air better than most large-leaved Anthurium, which makes it one of the easier species in the genus to keep looking good without specialist equipment. Two named ruffled-leaf selections, 'Jungle King' and 'Jungle Queen', are traded as separate cultivars rather than as the straight species.
