Observations from the Field

15th October 1889. Anthurium clarinervium remains a foundational marvel of the Mexican understories. Its deeply cordate, velvety leaves are remarkably stiff and coriaceous to the touch, offset by a clean, geometric white venation that stands in sharp contrast to the dark blade. I must note, the pricing index in London has stabilised somewhat for this species compared to its wildly volatile hybrid cousins, yet nurserymen still demand a premium for specimens showing perfect, unblemished cordation.
