About Monstera 'Aussie Dream'
Aussie Dream crosses the small-leaved, densely fenestrated Monstera adansonii with the larger, more robust Monstera deliciosa, landing on a leaf shape that's more symmetrical and rounder than adansonii alone while carrying a heavier hole-punched fenestration pattern than deliciosa typically shows at a comparable size. The result reads as a tidy middle ground between its two parents rather than a simple blend; leaves stay compact but the fenestrations are bold and evenly distributed. Like both parents, it's a climbing hemiepiphyte that benefits from a moss pole or similar support once it starts producing longer internodes.
Origin
No wild native range of its own: a horticultural hybrid cross of Monstera adansonii and Monstera deliciosa (both native to Mexico and Central/South America) developed by a breeder in Australia.
