Philodendron 'Congo Rojo' is a deep-red colour selection from the Congo hybrid group, bred for its glossy burgundy foliage that deepens further under strong light. New leaves emerge a bright coppery-red before darkening to a rich wine colour with maturity, giving mature plants a two-tone canopy of dark and bright red leaves. It shares the Congo group's tough, self-heading habit and undemanding care, making it one of the more forgiving red-leaved Philodendrons for beginners looking to add colour without extra difficulty. You'll also see it listed the other way round in the trade, as Philodendron 'Rojo Congo'; both names refer to the same plant.
