Anthurium 'Amazon Joy' combines forgetii's rounded, near-peltate leaf outline with the extremely dark, near-black colouring of Anthurium nigrolaminum. The blade keeps forgetii's characteristic reduced sinus while taking on a deeper, more saturated tone than forgetii shows on its own, with subtle silvery tracery visible against the near-black surface in good light. It's produced in enough volume across Ecuagenera's branches to have real trade recognition, even though the exact nigrolaminum clone behind any given plant is rarely specified by sellers.

Amazon Joy turns up across several of Ecuagenera's regional branches with real consistency, which is more trade validation than most named velvet hybrids get. The nigrolaminum side of this cross usually arrives as the 'Gigi'/gigante clone rather than an unselected plain-species plant, but that's a premium individual selection of the species, not a separate taxon (the same treatment given to Anthurium forgetii 'Silver' elsewhere on this site). Treat the parentage below as accurate at the species level, even where the seller doesn't specify which clone.
