August 2026 Price Guide

Most Expensive Scindapsus Varieties in 2026, Ranked

Satin-textured, structurally silver leaves set Scindapsus apart from the pothos it's often confused with. Here's what's topping the market.

By Aroid Atlas · Data sourced from live UK sold-price tracking · Prices shown for a 7cm plant, updated August 2026

Scindapsus is grown for satin-textured, often silver-patterned foliage, distinct from the glossier leaves of Epipremnum it's frequently confused with in the trade. Scindapsus pictus and its named silver forms, and S. treubii's plain and 'Moonlight' colour lines, account for most of the genus in circulation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between Scindapsus and pothos (Epipremnum)?

They're separate genera within Araceae; Scindapsus leaves have a distinctive matte, satin-textured surface with structural silver patterning, while Epipremnum (pothos) leaves are glossier with pigment-based variegation.

Why are variegated Scindapsus forms so much more expensive?

Chimeric variegated forms (Jade Satin Variegated, Snake Scale Tricolor, Moonlight Albo) must be propagated from a cutting taken at a visibly variegated node; a cutting from a reverted green section grows plain, which limits how fast true-to-type stock can be produced.
