Anthurium rugulosum
Rugose Anthurium

Morphology
About
Anthurium rugulosum, described by Sodiro, is a compact terrestrial Anthurium from the humid montane forests of Ecuador, growing on the shaded forest floor or low on humus-covered roots and rotting wood in consistently moist conditions. The leaf surface is the defining feature: strongly rugose and bullate, with prominent corrugations and thick substance that give the elongated-cordate blades a deeply textured, almost relief-map quality — dark green and dramatic from any angle. Short petioles arise from a close-formed crown, keeping the plant tight and compact. Among the textured anthuriums, rugulosum is particularly valued for the intensity of its surface patterning and the clean, architectural quality of its overall form, making it an important and eagerly sought addition to any serious collection.

How prices are calculated: The AA Price uses verified eBay UK completed auction data — we take the trimmed mean (removing the top and bottom 20% of prices) to produce a fair-value guide. When recent auction data is unavailable, the AA Price falls back to the current UK retail average. All prices are in GBP and updated automatically.
